What is Casual Leave granted to an employee of PSPCL?

In Punjab, government employees of PSPCL i.e. Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. are entitled to a certain amount of Casual Leave (CL) annually. The amount of CL depends on the employee's length of service. Female employees receive 20 days of CL, regardless of their length of service. 

How many Days of Casual Leave can be granted to an employee of PSPCL?

Here's a breakdown of the casual leave entitlement based on service: 

• Male Employees - Up to 20 years of service: 15 days of CL.
• Male Employees - More than 20 years of service: 20 days of CL. The male employees will get 20 days of CL in the calendar year in which he completes 20 years of service.
• All Female Employees - 20 days of CL, regardless of service.

How a Casual Leave granted to an employee of PSPCL is accounted for?

Casual leaves are accounted for as per calendar year i.e. from 1st January to 31st December. 

Any balance at the end of every calendar year shall lapse means casual leaves are not carried forward to next calendar years, every year new account of casual leaves will commence.

How many Days of Casual Leave can be granted to an employee of PSPCL, who have joined on June 3, 2024?

The employee may have joined on any date/ day or month of a calendar year, he will get the total no. of CL as per his/ her entitlement in that calendar month. 

So, an employee who have joined on June 3, 2024 will get 15 days of CL, if he is a male, & 20 days of CL in case female employee for the year 2024. & next year the new casual leave account will start.
